Best Editing Softwares

ARTICLE BY G-STAR STUDENT: RYAN BROEHM

Have you ever wanted to edit a video? But you don’t know which software best suits you?
Here are some of the best editing softwares.

In the Industry
The editing software we recommend as number one is Adobe’s Premiere Pro. Premiere Pro has
many features that help create high quality products.
Premiere Pro is available for WindowsOS and MacOS which gives the program availability to
any computer user. Premiere Pro runs the exact same on both OS’s.
Not only is it our number one recommendation, but Premiere Pro is also the most commonly used software in the Film Industry. But best of all, Premiere Pro is the video editing software we use here
at G-Star!
Yes, Premiere Pro is industry used, but it is very user-friendly for both beginner and experienced
users. Premiere has presets for different tools in the software.
Premiere Pro is amazing, but it does come with a price of $20.99 per month, or $239.88 per
year.

On A Budget
Let's say you want to edit, but you don’t have the money to buy Premiere Pro. Then Filmora
might be the right match for you.
Filmora is a computer program that has most of the same features as the higher end softwares
but with a cheaper price. While for Premiere Pro you have to pay monthly, Filmora is a one time
purchase for $50.
Filmora also has a free version that has limited tools and features, but can still get the job done.

No Computer?
If you are wanting to edit videos, but you don’t have a computer to edit on, then iMovie might
just be the right one for you.
iMovie is an editing software for iPhone users who want to create high quality videos. iMovie
can produce high quality products, just like you can get from expensive services, like Premiere
Pro, and Final Cut Pro.

Even though you can get very high quality products from iMovie, you do lose some tools and features that you can get from computer softwares. For example, on iMovie, you can only get a very limited amount of layers. Sadly, iMovie is only available to IOS users and not available on Samsung and other non-ios devices. An alternative for non-ios users is CapCut which has some free features but to get the full experience you have to pay.

With these packages, you will be able to edit videos to look professional. Now you should be able to realize which softwares the right one for you.
